The Chocolatiers will meet next on Wednesday, April 1, 2:30 p.m. in the Cullen Library. 
We will:
 - spray paint our point of sales display box(es)
- decide on the words we will use on the display, such as:
$3.50 each | Fair Trade Chocolate | Peabody's Patriot Chocolatier | Help support a village in Ghana | % of Cacao

An after-school club promoting local history through entrepreneurship.
Our first business project promotes the history of General Gideon Foster through the sale of
G Foster's Chocolate Bars.

Meetings: 
January 15 - Prepare deposit of funds raised through holiday sales; Decide on product to order;
Work on our presentation for Treadwells.  Based on the samples and info we sent Mr. Gould prior to the holidays,
he has agreed to sell our product.  We will bring product with us to our meeting. As a vendor, we are responsible
to provide Treadwell's with a point of sale display suited to his store.
What information do we need to get from him?  Please develop 3 to 5 questions.

January 21
- Field Trip to Treadwells - Permission Slip required.
Ms. Smoller will alert your teachers to dismiss you at 2:00 p.m. to the library so we can catch our ride.
Plan to be picked up at Treadwells, 46 Margin Street, at 3:30 p.m.

January 28
- Work on display for Treadwells and we will be preparing more bars for sale.

Coming Soon! Examine new documents about the ownership of Foster's chocolate mill !!!


As a Chocolatier, you will:

- Market and sell G. Foster's milk and white chocolate. 

- Learn about and promote fair trade and the Ghana community
that benefits from the sale of our chocolate bar.

- Design materials to display our product.

- Sell bars at the Higgins PTO Craft Fair - Great job!  We realized more than $200 profit!

Sell bars at the Higgins Middle School before the winter holidays.  Congratulations! We realized more than $250 profit!

- Research, prepare and deliver a public service announcement for the school's morning announcements
on the dates of significant events in Foster's life.

- Host a chocolate event in February to mark Foster's birthday and promote sales.

- Create a video commercial about G. Foster's for PAT-TV.

- Prepare a proposal for submission to the Peabody Institute Library Trustees to research
and prepare professional signage for historic art at the Peabody Institute.


- Visit Gideon Foster's House.


The Chocolatiers meet weekly on Wednesdays after school in the Cullen Memorial Library.
