James Putnam King - "Among the Kings of later years was James P. King, one of the most successful farmers in Essex County.  He was one of the sons of Samuel King, and operated a large farm in the Kingdom, as did two of his brothers.  Besides farming he served in the state legislature, as overseer of the poor for the town, and as vice president of the Essex Agricultural Society."
