In-Service Workshop - Course Number: FY10-0229-C2117

The Courage to Teach

Description:  COURAGE TO TEACH is a program that explores the personal and professional renewal of teachers.  This seminar is designed for educators, focusing on neither "technique" nor on school reform, but on renewing the inner lives of professionals in education on whom our society depends for so much but for whom we provide so little encouragement and support.  Focus will be on the text COURAGE TO TEACH by Parker Palmer. There will be reading to do outside the course meeting times.

Meeting Schedule: Tuesday, December 15, 2009; Tuesday, February 2, 2010; Tuesday, April 6, 2010;
Tuesday, June 1, 2010.  3:20 p.m. - 6:20 p.m.

Location: TBA

Enrollment: Limited to 12 participants

Instructor: Joseph Mastrocola, Assistant Superintendent of Schools

Credit:  Participants will receive one in-service credit (12 PDPs) in Technology.  To secure one credit, one must attend all sessions and meet requirements specified by the Instructor.  Those applying for credit must complete an "In-Service Education Registration" form, sign it, and file it in the Office of the Assistant Superintendent by the registration due date.

Registration Due:  Wednesday, December 2, 2009
