Because the Peabody School System is a large, complex organization, School Committee members and the Superintendent cannot deal directly with every matter of concern to citizens. If you have a question or concern, we suggest that you follow one of the following paths.
If your question or concern is about a student or a classroom: Talk to the teacher first, then the school principal, if necessary.
If your question or concern is about school personnel: Talk to the person first. If your question is not answered or your concern resolved, then talk with the principal. If your question is not answered or your concern still not resolved, talk with the appropriate Central Office Administrator, in that order. Any concerns that you have about personnel should be presented in writing.
If your question or concern is about a policy or a procedure of the school: Talk with the Principal. If your question or concern is not answered, if necessary, go to the appropriate Central Office Administrator.
Questions that have not been answered or problems that cannot be resolved at the school level should be presented to the Superintendent of Schools who will consider the matter herself or assign a staff member to resolve it.
The School Committee works with reviewing and developing policy. Please feel free to go to the School Committee about these issues if you have not had your question or concern answered by going through one of the above paths.
